Successful Farming – Berry Bounty Farms

Nestled in the fertile landscapes of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Berry Bounty Farms is a family-owned and operated berry farm with deep roots in the Fraser Valley. Located about an hour east of Vancouver and surrounded by mountain views and rich farmland, the property has been in the Maljaars family for four generations. Today, the farm spans 17 acres of raspberries and 20 acres of blueberries, continuing a long-standing tradition of growing high-quality berries for the local community.

For many years, four couples worked together to run the berry operation during the busy summer months. In 2023, the farm entered a new chapter when Brian and Leanne Maljaars purchased the business, committed to carrying the family legacy forward while continuing to serve customers with the same dedication and care that has defined Berry Bounty Farms for decades.

Visitors can enjoy the farm’s self-serve store, open year-round from Monday to Saturday. The convenient vending-style setup offers a variety of locally produced goods, including free-range eggs with rich golden yolks, frozen berries, homemade jams, and refreshing fruit juices. During the summer harvest season, the farm also operates a seasonal roadside berry stand, typically open daily (except Sundays) throughout June, July, and August, depending on crop availability.

Whether stopping by the roadside stand in summer or visiting the self-serve farm store throughout the year, Berry Bounty Farms offers a welcoming glimpse into Fraser Valley agriculture and the enduring value of family farming.
